All party meeting with Chief Electoral Officer in Bengal
Sri Chatterjee expressed dissatisfaction for 7 phases of poll. It will affect development work and the sentiment or rituals of particular community was not considered.In first phase of filing nomination there is a holiday of 4 days It will cause inconvenience.
They demanded counting of both EVM and VVPAT.
It is not also clear in which papers or in which electronic channel advt for criminal cases against candidates are to be published and who will bear the cost.Hot summer will also cause problems. Even one district will undergo poll in two phases. The duration of poll from 11April to 19 May is meaningless.
After meeting CEO in all party meeting Sri Jaiprakash Majumdar with other leader came before press.
He expressed satisfaction in 7 phases of poll as it will ensure free and fair poll. It will help people to cast his own vote without fear.
He complained that lakhs of banner and posters of Mamata Banerjee is hanging everywhere which should be cleared immediately. He was asked about posters of PM.He stated that if those are in violation of model code of conduct then those are also to be removed.He stressed on building confidence of public. He also stated objection against some statement of Bobby Hakim in which he stated that observers will come and go.But the local police will take care for rest 5 years .Sri Majumdar termed it as a threat which the CEO should look after.
Today Left front leaders also took part in all party meeting with CEO.
Later Sri Rabin Dev on behalf of other parties faced the press.
He complained that in order to extend undue benefit to PM Narendra Modi Election Commission delayed the date declaration of poll.Regarding new steps taken by ECI he explained that no step is fruitful unless it bears positive result.He stressed on need of deployment of sincere observers.In last time observers went to Hazarduari for a tour violating their duty.He stressed on the need of proper deployment of armed forces.
After attending all party meeting with CEO Congress representative Srl Prasanta Dutta stated almost same allegations as his previous speakers. He suggested that leaders like Anubrata Mondal should be put behind the bar for the sake of free and fair election.
CEO view;-
On behalf of CEO Sri Sanjoy Basu Dy CEO briefed the press about today's meeting.
He stated that the meeting was held in a very cordial atmosphere. The leaders were explained about existing legal provisions as well as new introductions.Their whole hearted support was saught.
Sri Basu said that all complaints and suggestions of the leaders are being sent to ECI for their clarification and guidance.
