BPCL Reassured Uninterrupted LPG Supply Across India; Urges Consumers to Avoid Panic Booking

Banga Prades News Desk, Kolkata , April 08, 2026: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a Fortune Global 500 company and a Maharatna PSU, today reassured that LPG supply across the country remains stable and sufficient, despite global market disruptions and heightened consumer concerns in certain regions. 

The company emphasized that it is continuously monitoring the situation and taking proactive steps to ensure seamless availability of LPG to both domestic and commercial consumers.

BPCL has been delivering over 13.80 lakh LPG cylinders daily on average to households across the country since 1st March 2026, ensuring supply remains aligned with regular demand patterns. In the last five days (3rd–7th April), over 550+ BharatGas 5 kg mini cylinder camps were organised across the country to ensure availability and facilitate easy access for consumers. Additionally, during the last ten days (29th March to 7th April), more than 11,800,000+ domestic cylinders, 226,000+ commercial cylinders, and 297,000+ mini cylinders were sold nationwide.

Key Measures Undertaken by BPCL

Priority to Domestic Consumers: Ensuring uninterrupted supply of LPG cylinders to households remains the highest priority. 

Robust Supply Chain: Additional sourcing and logistics arrangements have been activated to maintain steady supply. 

Enhanced Operations: Refineries and bottling plants are operating at optimal capacity to meet demand. 

Strict Monitoring: Intensive inspections and vigilance drives are being conducted to curb hoarding, black marketing, and malpractices. 

Action Against Irregularities: Thousands of inspections have been carried out, with strict action taken against errant distributors wherever necessary. 

Digital Enablement: A significant majority of LPG bookings are being made through digital platforms, ensuring convenience and transparency. 

OTP-Based Delivery System: Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) ensures cylinders are delivered only to genuine consumers.
